Are you getting bored at home? Here are a few creative things you can do to keep yourself busy! Hope this article is helpful.
1) Create a Memory Book
We can try creating a memory book to store and document special moments we wish to relish from the past year. This activity will develop our reflection skills. Taking a moment to reflect back is also a lesson in gratitude because it gives one a chance to count our blessings and be grateful. The memory book activity gives us an opportunity to unleash all the creativity, we kept contained through the school year.

2) Gardening
Just because we are cooped indoors doen't mean that we have to disconnect from nature. Allot a small plot of land within your compound or terrace garden to yourself and allow yourself to nurture a flower, vegetable, or fruit of your choice. Gardening is a great way to instill a sense of appreciation and love for nature in ourselves. We can learn about the world around us while having fun! Growing herbs like methi, mint, basil etc are an opportunity to learn about sustainability and good health as a priority. Sometimes you may also have flying visitiors to these plants.

3) Jar Activities
There have been sometimes when we have an idea of what we can do in our spare times, and then we forget all about it. Or sometimes we have too many options to choose from, so we dont do anyhting at all because we cant choose. In these cases we can keep a jar or a box with pieces of paper. You can write down your ideas on these strips and randomly pick one and then you do whatever your chit said. You can even ask your friends or family to put in 2 or 3 chits for help.
If you want you can even decorate, paint your jar/ box as one activity!

4) Dance!
Just turn up the volume on one of your favourite songs and move to the music! You don't necessarily have to do something to complex, just jump to all the beats, or move your arms for a bit. It will help you feel happy and calm. Maybe you can look up some dance routines on You Tube and follow along. Or you can try putting some steps together and create your own 30 seconds routine!

5) Write
Pick up a pen and sheet of paper and let your mind run loose! Just write down a short fictional story, or maybe write what your dream was. Writing doens't necessarily have to be a story with extravagant vocablulary. It can be a small poem with rhyming words, or a small article on your family history!

6) Read
If you are tired but bored you can read! Choose a book that you want to read. (Let me know in the comments if you'll want me to do an article on my personal favourite books with some book suggestions!) If you have already read the books you have at home, and cant get more becasue of COVID- 19 safety protocols or because of personal choice, you can always download online book. Maybe you can use Kindle.

7) Backyard Birding
We are all bored of sitting in our room, at our desk studying online, or working. Take a small break and step out into your balcony, backyard or just go to your window. Look out, observe the greenery around you. Obserce the birds around you. There are actually a lot more birds other than the crow, pigeon, sparrow that you can see from your windows. We are usually so pre occupied with what we are doing, we usually dont realise that the bird we are seeing is not a sparrow. There are apps that you downlaod where you can put in the description of the bird and it will generate a few possible birds you could have seen. Or you can upload th picture of the bird if you clicked it and the app will generate options. One such app is Merlin.
