Ouch! My mother could feel me kicking inside her stomach. I felt a hand being placed on my mother's stomach. Even before being born, I was probably doing somersaults in my mum's stomach.
Time skip to now, when, every time she walks into my room, she sees me in a handstand, or pirouetting my way through the room.
I remember being 4 and my mum picking out these cute dresses and hairbands with bows on them whenever we had to step out for an event, or dinner. Now, it's me going into her cupboard looking for a top that I could flick from her!
A couple of years ago, I hated waking up early and stepping out of the home. Now it's me telling my mum to remember to wake up early so that we could go for our morning jog. There are times when my mum and I step out to run errands, and I ask her to take a detour and drive past Carter Road.
I went from, "Mumma I want something to eat." to "Mumma I am cooking, I need help." While my mum has little faith in me when I'm in the kitchen (Which is very understandable) she always helps me. Not once has she refused to see my antics and skills ( Skills really!).
I even managed to convince my mum to watch K- Dramas with me and hear me go on and on about BTS, Blackpink, and Kpop. Despite not understanding Korean. my mum still watches the K- Dramas (and mine) with me while reading the English subtitles.
On a slightly more serious note, not everyone is good at portraying emotions, right? I absolutely love my mum and I genuinely cannot imagine life without her, saying that, I don't show it much. I don't remember the last time I went up to my mum hugged her and told her that I loved her.
Mumma saranghaeyo! (no subtitles here, she will need the Google Translate app)
