Our Inspiration, Our Teachers

Teacher's Day is celebrated every 5th of September to honour the memory of India's first Vice President Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan. It celebrates the teachers in our lives. Most of us have teachers who have made a difference to us as a person, someone who shapes us to what we become. This story is about those who have inspired me in my formative days.

A teacher inspires a lot of people, including his/her students.

Ms. RK3E was my English teacher. She inspired me to explore the world of books. I injured my wrist and used to sit back alone in my class at lunch time. She pushed me to go play with my friends, encouraging me to use the other 3 limbs while in play. She taught me to never give up and inspired me to stretch the limits and not get constrained by physical constraints. She taught me that no matter what life brought to you, you can always find the positive to it. She taught me to see the fun in challenges.

Ms. FJ6G was my geography teacher. We had an Inter- house dance competion and I didn't want to participate in it because some of my friends didnt like dancing.I loved dancing and Ms knew it. She came and spoke to me and told me that I dont have to change my passions to be accepted. She taught me to accept me for whom I am and to never change for someone else. She taught me to believe in myself and to trust my decisions and choices. She taught me the importance of hardwork, dedication and faith.

Ms. WM7C was my class teacher during the lockdown period. At home we had our family and devices for company, needless to say, we were more excited with our devices. It was Ms. WM7C who encouraged us to observe the nature and the life around us. She also pushed us to write about our feelings and share with friends and family, and here I am, writting this blog. She taught us to appreciate the little thigs around us.

Ms. TJ6M was my math teacher. We had a group project. It was the first time we were doing anything like that specific project. There were different perspectives coming from everybody. She taught me to have an open mind and to be open to new ideas. She taught me the importance of leadership and she taught me how to be a good leader. She helped me accept a subject I did not enjoy- Maths!

Ms. SA5E was my english teacher. We had to write a piece of our choice as a class and narrate it. Our class did a haunted house piece. Scary/Horror themed, and me do not usually go hand in hand. Ms. SA5E taught me to experience new things and to step out of my comfort zone. She also taught me that with glory comes great responsibilty.

...And then we have our very own Principal. We wont know when she has slipped into the class as a back bencher, always a kind word to speak, a pleasant voice to give company, and yet firm when she has to be. I so look to her calm and controlled demeanor.

Happy Teachers Day!!
