Working live from the eyes of a 14 year old

We have all seen some other movie or show that romanticizes working life. Work seems like perfect heaven. You go to work, enjoy it. Give in your assignments, and documents. It gets approved. You get promoted. Your team takes you out to celebrate your promotion. "Boom" That's it. That simple, that fun.

That's what I believe..... well actually believed. That was one opinion that changed during my summer break.

During my summer break, I interned with an NGO that works with the Indian government and the Indian army against cybercrime. I was tasked with the job of creating content for their social media platforms. I interned with Ahaan Foundation.

In the beginning, I thought that it would be all rainbows and flowers..... getting assignments, submitting them, and that's it. Perfect right?

Nope! That's not how it actually happened. There were multiple iterations to the content, different perspectives, and brand guidelines. There were some fun parts as well. Signing the NDA, and the contract made me so feel so mature and important. The entire experience of actually working was really exciting. The thought itself is exciting. Another thing that I really enjoyed was the learning experience. Something seemingly so small is actually something that we encounter in our daily lives without even noticing it. For us, when we say cybercrime the first thing that comes to mind is probably hacking. Once I started working on my first assignment, I realized that there was so much more to cybercrime than just hacking. One thing, that we teenagers fall prey to the most is probably accepting friend requests from strangers and viewing links sent by these “friends”. We often end up getting harmed by these links. These people often make our perspectives change in an unhealthy manner.

In order for us to avoid such a situation, please go to www. responsiblenetism.org

Let us together take a pledge to be responsible netizens and let us make this world a cyber-safe world.
